Established in 1998, Grand River Snowmobile Club is an incorporated, not-for-profit club which aims to see a system of national standard trails established in the Upper Lake Mevillle area.

🔔Nominated Volunteer: Mark Pelley

✅Bio: Mark has been volunteering with the GRSC for many years. He grooms various trails around town when needed, his long career in heavy equipment allows him to offer knowledge and skills to the other volunteers with the GRSC. As a Ground Search and Rescue volunteer he also ensures all safety measures are taken when on the trails or in the GRSC garage.

✅How has volunteering transformed Mark's life?
Mark enjoys being outside and takes great pride in volunteering with the GRSC to ensure trails are safe year round. He also enjoys spending time with his grandson on the trails to show him the importance of giving back to the community at a young age.

✅How has Mark's contribution impacted the community?
The community of HV-GB, Mud Lake, NWR and Sheshatshiu can be confident that the snowmobile trails are well maintained and safe to use when grooming allows. In the summer, Mark also helps with trail maintenance by cutting brush and looking at alternate trails.

Snow Removal on Dome Mountain

April 17, 2026 – Happy Valley-Goose Bay – Canadian Armed Forces

5 Wing Goose Bay would like to advise the public Serco will be conducting snow removal on the road to Dome Mountain/Pine Tree starting on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The work will continue until the roadway is clear. Due to heavy equipment being required for the work, vehicles and pedestrians are advised to stay clear of the area while work is in progress. Barricades will be set up at the beginning of the work site and will remain in place until work has been completed.

This removal will also involve drainage into ditches. For the safety of workers and members of the public, please respect the barricades and do not attempt to move around them.
