🍂 FALL TRAIL REPORT 🔨

A few updates from the trails as we start to slowly wrap up the season!

Schacher: Some work in the Schacher cutblock has made a few features safer and more enjoyable. We also gave the trail a little extra love following a culvert replacement on the Bowle-Evans FSR to get everything running smoothly again.

Selkirk Slacker/Snake Hill Bridge: Temporary shoring is in place to support the bridge until we can get it fully replaced next year.

B12: B12 got a tune-up! It’s closed for the remainder of the season, so please respect the closure and give the work time to settle. We’re looking forward to riding it in early 2027!

Thanks to our trail crew for keeping things rolling, and to our members, volunteers and supporters for helping make this work possible. 🙌

Golden’s trails are part of what makes this community such a great place to live. 🚴‍♀️

With the municipal election coming up on Saturday, we asked Golden’s candidates how they would help keep our trails accessible, well maintained and sustainable...and how they would support the community organizations caring for them.

Their responses are now on our website! Take a few minutes to see what some of them they had to say, learn about your candidates and make your voice count at the polls. All responses received have been posted.

⚠️ A section of the Schacher trail is closed while a culver gets replaced on the Bowle-Evans FSR (Mount 7 road). ⚠️

Currently, you can detour on the road.

This work is being done today, Thursday, Oct 15, but may continue tomorrow. For the time being, the road is open, but it may close. Stay tuned for more details. We will update our story as we know more info! Spread to word 🙂

Love Golden’s trails? Help shape the future! 🚲

Join us for the Golden Cycling Club’s AGM on Monday, November 2 at 7:30 PM at The Island Restaurant. Catch up on the year, hear what’s ahead and connect with the people who help make it all happen.

We’re looking for a few new Board members! If you’re interested in running for a position, we’d love to hear from you. In particular, we're looking for a President, Treasurer and Communications Director, but any position can be open for re-election and we'd be happy to have multiple candidates!

Want to get involved through a committee? We’re also looking for members for our:
• Events Committee
• Communications Committee
• Trail Development Committee

Drones map the terrain. Ecologists understand the habitat. And sushi… well, who doesn’t like sushi?!

In Flight Robotics, Omnia Ecological and Nagomi Sushi are three very different businesses that fit into our world of building trails, caring for the places we ride, and feeding the people who ride them.

🦃 Bikes, poker, fresh crepes, BBQ and Prizes! Thanksgiv’r’s Tour de Ville Poker Ride is this Sunday, October 11!

Thanks to everyone who’s submitted photos and headed out for Rides 1 and 2 this fall. What beautiful riding weather we’ve been having!☀️

Join us Sunday for a ride through Golden’s trail networks, collecting poker cards along the way. We’ll stop for fresh crepes in Nicholson and finish with a BBQ. Prizes for the best poker hands include a farm-raised turkey from Whisper Ranch! 🚲

Prefer running shoes? You can run the short route if that’s more your style! A shuttle can be arranged from Nicholson, back to town.

📍 Start and finish: 1222 11 Street South, Golden
🕣 Registration from 8:30 AM
💛 Pay what you can — suggested contribution of $10

🦃 Thanksgiv’r Ride #2 "Nicholson Love" starts today!

Grab your riding buddies and explore a different loop through the Moonrakers, starting from Nicholson. The route is marked and ready to roll!

🚲 Approximately 17 km with 450 m of climbing
📅 Ride on your own schedule between now and October 11
✅ No registration required!

Snap photos at the checkpoint signs, then send them with a screenshot of your ride from Strava (or another tracking app) to [email protected] by Sunday, October 11.
