Missing Dog Response Team When best friends get separated it is our team's mission to reunite them as safely and quickly as possible. I don’t just find lost dogs.

I find purpose, meaning, and a life I love.

I will no longer allow others to take away my confidence. Second guessing myself only hurts the recovery. This is another amazing recovery done. To be there for the owner was my pleasure. The guy in the white SUV, the woman at the hospital, both of you approaching me with such thoughtful words. Thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. There are a lot of people that are watching me. For a darn good reason!
None of my recoveries are possible without help from volunteers. And wow! So many! Going to make a list of attendees to shoutout once I chat with the owner more.
So relieved he is home. Time for a nap! And on to the next!

UPDATE; doggy is home!!

UPDATE: nothing on trail cameras. The area they heard whining needs to be grid searched. If you can come help with this, that would be absolutely amazing! 2pm

UPDATE: our amazing friends over at In Flight Robotics Inc. were able to take the thermal drone out. They located a few spots we will be looking at tomorrow. Amazing. The support is so amazing and appreciated.

UPDATE: so far no sightings. Lots of help out walking. So appreciative of the Golden Golf Club for allowing us to search and the use of a golf cart. Was a lifesaver today. Will be back on scene early morning to check cameras. Also appreciate the gentleman that stopped and said such beautiful things that made him and myself tear up. Needed that. There have been so many helpers already I will have to figure a list! Tamara appreciates everyone’s support to recover her little guy.

UPDATE: no sightings thus far but did find prints. Possibly from last night. Hard to tell. But we sort of know his flight path.

UPDATE: please if you want to help don’t just come down to the course until I gather some rules this morning.

Dog running at the golf course. Owner resides there. Don’t have much updates but will be heading there as soon as I can. Tamara Kuss

When Helping Animals Turns Into a Challenge

Since I began helping lost animals in our community, I’ve faced challenges I never expected. I started doing this because I believe that when an animal is lost, frightened, or in danger, that animal should come first.

Some experiences have been difficult and discouraging.

I have observed that some local lost-dog and lost-cat posts were not shared, even though sharing them could have helped reach more people. I was also removed from one lost-dog scene and another person was brought in. More recently, three dogs in Donald were brought home, and when they were later reported near the highway, staff responded without contacting me, despite my recent involvement and familiarity with the dogs.

I don’t know why those decisions were made, but I believe communication and cooperation are important when animals’ safety is involved.

I’ve spent years learning this terrain and working with frightened animals, owners, volunteers, and community members. I do not charge people who are already under stress. Often, by the time additional help arrives, volunteers and owners have already worked together to bring the dog home.

I’m proud of the number of animals I’ve helped recover, and I hope that work can be recognized as an effort to support animals and their families.

I have also heard that some people have made accusations about my conduct, including claims involving bottles and dogs. I cannot speak to the basis of those claims, but they have been deeply hurtful. I remain focused on helping animals and supporting their owners.

I also want to address the deer at the overpass. Last summer, I received many calls from people concerned about the dangerous situation. I advocated for a solution, and the bushes were eventually removed. Since then, the deer have not been seen in that area. I hope this reduces the chance that young deer will return there next year. My understanding is that they were not born at the overpass but were left there temporarily while their mother searched for food.

If I could do what I did last summer all over again, I would. A million times over.

I don’t do this for recognition. I do it because I cannot stand by while an animal is frightened, lost, injured, or in danger.

If you weren’t present, you may not know everything that happened. I hope people will seek information directly and avoid making conclusions based on incomplete accounts.

I’ve seriously considered walking away.

But I’m not going to.

Not while there are dogs out there who need someone willing to show up.

I will keep showing up.

For the animals.

Every single time. 🐾
