The Golden ECDC strives to use our knowledge of childhood vulnerability to provide programs and services to children and families that will create an environment where our youngest citizens are given the best possible start in life.

Last week the team met to discuss the latest EDI results. EDI data are integral to the story of early childhood development in our community, contributing important evidence for guiding informed responses and investments in children and families as well as helping us to understand the effectiveness of those responses.

You can help end hunger in our community by making a donation today! Donations can be dropped off Overwaitea with the cashiers or at the Golden Food Bank located at 1115 9th Street South in Golden anytime Monday-Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm.

Household food insecurity (FI) (without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food, even for a temporary period), is associated with children's behavioral, academic and emotional problems beginning as early as infancy.

A program that helps parents foster a secure, nurturing relationship with their baby

is the view that infants experience themselves and the world within the context of relationship. Brain studies have recently confirmed this theory by demonstrating how neural pathways are enhanced by nurturing, responsive caregiver input that fosters a healthy relationship.

Designed to help people to find mental health and substance-use information, this digital database brings together more than 6,000 services from 250 providers throughout the Province of BC. Users can look for services in their area using the Mental Health and Substance Use Service Map.
