WHAT A WAY TO OPEN THE DOORS!
More than 600 people came through the Goderich Memorial Community Centre for our first booking last Sunday, and it was incredible to see the building filled with people, conversation and activity once again, all for a great cause!
Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared a memory, offered a kind word or told us how excited you are to see the GMCC back in action! It truly means a lot to our volunteers and Board. It was a great reminder of why we took this project on and what this building can mean to our community.
We believe that reopening the doors to the former Goderich Memorial Arena is an important milestone, but there is still plenty of work ahead.
Our $750,000 Capital Campaign will help us continue renovating, modernizing and transforming the building into a true community centre for current and future generations.
Over the next few weeks, you'll really start seeing some of the many ways you and other members of this great community can be part of this journey. We will be re-launching a new website for the Goderich Memorial Community Centre, and a page which will provide all the information you need to make an impact in this community.
From community tiles and individual donations to business sponsorships, partnerships and naming opportunities, we will all come together to create a place to gather, a place to belong and a place for generations to come!
Sunday gave us a glimpse of what is possible when people come together. Now we need the community's help to keep that momentum going!
