Lakewood Community Garden

Lakewood Community Garden Lakewood Community Garden (Lakewood Blooms) is a community garden located in Glenwood, NL next to the local k-12 school and day care/preschool.

The Lakewood Blooms Community Garden is a school garden for students of Lakewood Academy, the NewFunLand Daycare and Preschool and residents of the community. Students plant in the garden in June each year before school ends, then harvest in the fall in new school year. Families are encouraged to volunteer during the summer and keep the students engaged and involved in the growing process. All vol

unteers are welcomed. Some garden duties involved watering the vegetable beds and plants in the green house, some weeding or transplanting/thinning vegetables as needed. A volunteer is at the garden Wednesday nights at 6:30 during the summer months to provide guidance to families volunteering. They will help provide direction and set tasks for the upcoming week. There is also a communication book in the greenhouse to communicate with others.
