By the time someone reaches out for help, they've often already told their story more times than they should have to.

We've spent the past year working to change that. Together with Buoyancy Works, we've built a case management system shaped around how our team actually works, so a client's history and next steps are shared across the whole team and people don't have to start over or retell the hard parts to every new face.

On Tuesday, September 22, we're opening our doors to show you how it works and what it means for the people we serve. Come see how Rise is working differently, meet the team, and stay to say hello. It's free and drop-in, so come by any time between 5 and 7 PM.

Just a friendly reminder that our office will be closed Friday, July 31, and Monday, August 3 for the Heritage Day long weekend.

Meet Beth, one of our Advocates supporting Talking Taxes. She works across our Calgary offices part-time and is based out of our Siksika office, supporting the Talking Taxes Program.

When we asked what she's most excited about, Beth told us: "I'm most excited about building meaningful relationships within the community and supporting individuals and families as they work toward their goals. I look forward to learning from the people I meet, collaborating with my team, and helping connect people with the resources and support they need to thrive."

Outside of work, she loves beadwork and creating pieces that let her express her creativity, and she treasures time outdoors with her daughter, whether that's going for walks or just enjoying nature together.

We're so glad to have her on the team. What would you tell Beth if you met her?

Oki. Did you know? CRA is piloting an Automatic Tax Filing program in March 2027. Eligible individuals will be those who are considered a 'Simple File', on low income and will not owe any taxes. This is an 'opt in' system, so CRA will need your approval before they file for you automatically. If you are eligible, you may be receiving a notification to go to your MyCRA account (if you have one) or a letter in the mail.

As always, if you receive something that you are not sure about, please feel free to drop by and we will help you determine if it is a scam or not.
