As we close the chapter on another school year 📚, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to our incredible staff and students 🙏. The thoughtful gifts I received, including delicious strawberries and cherries, rich chocolate, gift cards and beautiful flowers, were truly touching. A special thank you to the grade 4 or 5 class for the stunning homemade wooden tokens with uplifting messages 🌟 - it's a wonderful reflection of mine and our Community School's values. Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable summer ☀️!

Ms. Tattrie's 24-Hour Push for a Cure May 26 & 27th 💕🌼💕

Dear GES Community,

Our School has decided to host Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life event at our school, and support Canadians in their cancer journeys.

Our event will take place on: May 26th and 27th.
Relay For Life is a global movement to end cancer. It is active in 29 countries and 6,000 communities worldwide. Relay For Life brings together students, teachers, family members, and friends to celebrate cancer survivors with a Survivors' Lap. Our grade 6 and 7 students will take part in a special Luminary Ceremony and each class will participate in the walk during the school day May 26th and May 27th.

This year we are carrying Ms. Tattrie in our hearts who has been battling cancer. Ms. Tattrie spent her career supporting our most vulnerable learners and singlehandedly championed Family First. She has done amazing things in all her years at Gibsons Elementary and now its our turn to fight for her.

We are hoping that you may want to get involved as well, as you are an important part of our school community, and this is how!

You can donate online through our school Relay For Life website @ https://support.cancer.ca/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLY_NW_even_?fr_id=30561&pg=entry and help us reach our goal!

If your child wishes to collect offline donations, there will be forms in the office. Place donations and the completed form in a Ziplok bag or envelope and return it to the school by May 23rd.
Thank you for your time and please contact us if you would like to get involved in any other way or if you have any questions.

Team GES

Help us show that no one faces cancer alone. Join your school and help us prove that together, we are bigger than cancer.

The winter forecast has changed. What was initially expected to be isolated flurries is now forecasted as steady snowfall across the Sunshine Coast.

We ask that families who can safely pick up their child(ren) do so. Please note the main highway is moving very slowly. Please know your children are safe at school until you are able to make arrangements.

Staff will remain on site until all students have been picked up or have made safe arrangements to get home.

NOTE: Seamless Day after-school care programs will be CLOSED today.
