🌟 We’re Hiring! After‑School Care Assistant 🌟
Part‑time • $22.50/hr • Monday–Friday

We’re looking for a reliable, child‑focused team member to join our after‑school care program. If you enjoy working with school‑age kids and bring a calm, positive presence to the end of the day, we’d love to hear from you.

📅 Hours
• 2:30–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday
• 1:30 PM start on early‑dismissal days
• Optional Breakfast Club morning shifts may be available

✔ Requirements
• Minimum 20 hours of child‑related training
• Responsible Adult certificate (or equivalent)
• Able to pass a Criminal Record Check (vulnerable children & adults)
• Friendly, dependable, and comfortable working with kids

💬 What You’ll Do
• Supervise indoor/outdoor play
• Support safe, engaging activities
• Encourage positive behaviour and peer interactions
• Help create a welcoming, inclusive environment

☀️ ARE YOU READY FOR SUMMER!! ☀️

Because we’ve officially brushed off the pencils, shoved them in a drawer, and declared them someone else’s problem until fall.

It’s time to hit the town and by “town,” we obviously mean anywhere we can take tu ou? Parks, trails or beaches.

We’ve got BIG, sun soaked fun activities planned all summer long:

• The “WOW THIS IS AMAZING” kind
• The “WHY IS THIS WET?” kind
• And the “Parents, you’re welcome” kind

So grab your sunscreen, your water bottles, and your best “I swear I packed that” energy.

Summer Camp is ON and it’s about to get gloriously fun.

Gibsons Area Community Schools is hiring Summer Staff!

If you enjoy hanging out with kids ages 5–12, can roll with joyful chaos, and love a good field trip, we’d love to meet you.

Requirements:
• 20 hours of child‑related training or a completed Responsible Adult course
• Must be 19+ to meet licensing ratios — however, applicants 18+ may be considered if we have two staff aged 19+ on shift
• Must be able to pass a provincial government Criminal Record Check
• First Aid is an asset (we can provide training)
• Preference may be given to applicants under 30 for Canada Summer Grants, but all applicants 18+ are welcome
• Must genuinely enjoy spending your day with energetic, curious, hilarious children ages 5–12

Program Details:
• 8‑week program (June 29-Aug 28)
• Monday–Friday, 8:30–4:30 (stat holidays off — we like rest too)
• Based in the multipurpose room at Gibsons Elementary
• Includes excursions around town to explore, learn, and burn off summer wiggles

Our friends over at Esprit Daycare are hosting a fundraiser, that will also be a fun community event! A 24 hour run - stay for the whole 24 hours or just drop by for a few laps and to cheer people on.

The 15th is a school closure day, so the date has been adjusted.

We’ll be away from the school from December 20, 2025 to January 5, 2026 as we take a little time to rest and enjoy the season.
