Friends of the Halton Hills Library

Friends of the Halton Hills Library The Friends of the Halton Hills Public Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization which works to promote the library through advocacy and fundraising

The Friends of the Halton Hills Public Library promote our two library branches (Acton and Georgetown). We raise funds through our popular used book sale area within each branch. In 2015 we supported the following projects:

* Frog painting in the Georgetown children's section

* One Book One Halton Hills

* Ink Writing Project

* Fireplace screen for downstairs ad

ult lounge

* Acton reading deck

* Double bookcase pods

We are planning some exciting activities to promote our libraries in 2016 and are looking for new Friends to help. To find out more about how you can become involved, contact the Friends at [email protected]

The Friends of the Halton Hills Public Library wish to congratulate Carolyn Brown one of our dedicated Board Members on this award.

During National Volunteer Week, we’re especially proud to celebrate Carolyn Brown, a 2026 Community Development Halton Cheers to Volunteers Award recipient! 🎉 Chosen from 349 nominations across Halton Region, Carolyn is one of just three recipients in Halton Hills.

The library has always been a “happy place” for Carolyn. After years of visiting with her family, she was inspired to give back as a Reading Buddies volunteer, helping young readers build confidence and discover a love of reading. 📚💛

Carolyn’s dedication reflects the incredible spirit of volunteerism that strengthens our community. During National Volunteer Week, we thank Carolyn and all of our amazing volunteers. Your time, passion, and commitment mean the world to us.

We wish a Happy Easter to those celebrating.
