📢 NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Please be advised that Broadening Horizons Recycling Depot will be closed to the public on Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th, as management will be attending MMSB Green Depot professional development sessions in St. John’s.

While we are closed to the public, our staff will be working behind the scenes to catch up on recycling counts and outstanding Xpress orders.

We will reopen for regular business hours on Saturday, October 17th.

♻️ As we wrap up another incredibly busy summer at Broadening Horizons Recycling Depot, we want to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to our community! 💚

This summer certainly came with its challenges. Between record volumes of recycling, backlogs, unexpected closures and delays with our Xpress service, we know things haven't always run as smoothly as we'd like.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding and continued support as our team has worked hard to keep up with the demand.

Despite the challenges, we're proud to share that we've processed over 4 MILLION beverage containers so far this year! That's 4 million containers kept out of our landfills, thanks to YOU!

Your continued support makes a difference, not only for our environment but also for Broadening Horizons and the individuals we serve.

From all of us at Broadening Horizons, thank you for recycling, for supporting our organization and for sticking with us through an exceptionally busy summer.

Here's to a great fall and continuing to make a difference together! ♻️

♻️Important Xpress Drive-Thru Reminder♻️

We kindly ask that customers do not leave Xpress bags outside the drop-off room.

At times, our Xpress room may be at full capacity. If you are unable to place your bags inside the room, please take your recyclables with you and return at another time.

Bags left outside are exposed to the weather, which can damage or make the Xpress tags unreadable. There is also a risk of bags being taken. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee or be responsible for bags that are left outside of the Xpress room.

A couple of reminders when using the Xpress Drive-Thru:

• Once you print your tags, open the drop-off doors right away. The doors will automatically lock again if too much time passes.

• The doors do not pop open automatically. You need to pull firmly on the door after printing your tags to open it.

• If the room is full, the doors have locked again, or you are unable to get the doors open, please do not leave your bags outside. Take them with you and return at another time.

We know this can be inconvenient, and we appreciate everyone's cooperation as we continue working through the current Xpress volume. 💚♻️
