Kite Craft & Soar | Cobb's Pond
Come make, decorate, and fly your own kite with us! All materials and light refreshments are provided. Weather permitting.

September 7 | Labour Day

🎨 September 10 | 6:00–7:30 PM
Newfoundland on Canvas | Gander ANC Office
A Newfoundland-inspired paint night for kids, think puffins, lighthouses, whale tails, and Jellybean Row houses. Materials and light refreshments included.

Temporary Foreign Worker Open House | Gander ANC Office

Creativity in Full Colour! 🎨👜

What a wonderful way to close out August with our Tote Bag Painting Night! Kids had the chance to design and personalize their own canvas tote bags, and it was such a joy watching their creativity come to life, each bag turned out completely unique, reflecting each child's own style and imagination.

With classes starting next week, these totes couldn't have come at a better time, ready to carry books, supplies, and a few school-day extras. 🎒

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our final August event such a memorable one. We loved seeing the kids enjoy the evening and take pride in their creations.

More activities are on the way this September, stay tuned for what's next!

A night of music and community connection! 🎶

Our Community Social Night brought newcomers and community members together for a relaxed evening of live music, singing, board games, refreshments, and conversation.

We enjoyed Afro-pop music from Bobby Black, a live drum performance from John Carlo, and even a little Newfoundland flavour as we learned and sang a traditional Newfoundland song together! 🥁🎤🎶 It was a great mix of music, cultures, and shared moments.

Thank you to Bobby and John Carlo for sharing their time and talents, to our volunteer who brought muffins for everyone to enjoy, and to Crossing Church Gander for welcoming us into their space. 💛

And to everyone who came out, sang along, played a game, or simply spent some time connecting with others, thank you for being part of the night.

We hope to see you at our next event!

Earlier this year, residents shared their thoughts through the Town of Gander’s Community Safety Survey. Your feedback highlighted several areas that are important to our community, including:

• Night-time safety and enforcement
• Road and sidewalk maintenance
• Traffic speeds, especially near crosswalks and school zones
• Improved lighting in key areas
• Vacant lot maintenance
• Safe and welcoming public spaces for families
• Emergency preparedness

Now, we’re taking the next step.

The Town of Gander is inviting residents to join us for a Community Safety Planning Session. This is an opportunity to share your experiences, talk about the priorities identified through the survey, and help us explore practical ways to make Gander an even safer and more welcoming community.

A little rain couldn’t stop the fun! 🌦️⚽🏏

Despite the drizzly weather, we had a great time at our Family Sports Day & BBQ! Families and participants came together for soccer, cricket, Filipino games, other fun activities, and, of course, some good food along the way.

A big thank you to Gander Fire Rescue for partnering with us, providing the hotdogs, and taking care of the BBQ. We truly appreciate your time and support in helping make the event possible! 🌭🔥

Thank you as well to Gander Grow Co. for helping accommodate our event at Cobb’s Pond and supporting us with the BBQ setup.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers who generously gave their time and helped with the games, activities, refreshments, and everything in between. Your support was greatly appreciated!

And finally, thank you to our clients, families, and everyone who came out and participated. The weather may not have been perfect, but it didn’t stop us from playing, connecting, and enjoying the day together. 💛

What a wonderful Saturday we had at Cobb’s Pond! 🌿
Our Nature Walk & Market Morning was filled with fresh air, great company, and plenty of fun along the way! Participants walked the scenic boardwalk around the pond while taking part in a nature scavenger hunt, stopped to feed the ducks, and wrapped up the morning with light refreshments and a visit to the Gander Farmers’ Market. 🦆
We also hosted a Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Information Session, with helpful information and resources available for TFWs to learn more about the supports and services available to them.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the morning so enjoyable. We loved spending time together, exploring our community, and making new connections!
We look forward to seeing you at our next community event! 💚
