Congratulations to our four Gananoque ISS - UCDSB students who were selected for the 2026 Rotary Youth Leadership Award! Leah Millar & Emily Raymond (sponsored by the Rotary Club of Gananoque) and Julia Taylor and Della Davis (sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kingston).

Over the weekend these young leaders completed a three day program at Rky Camp in Parham, Ontario with 80 students from across Rotary District 7040 including Northern NY State, Ottawa, Kingston, Carleton Place and Brockville.

The students return to their communities with new friendships and skills that will enable them to continue to serve their communities in the years ahead.

Gananoque ISS - UCDSB high school students who wish to apply for a 2027-2028 youth exchange can apply in the fall of 2026. Garlic Mustard Go Away

Garlic Mustard Pesto

Ingredients
1 cup fresh garlic mustard leaves (blanched and chopped)
1/4 cup basil, lemon balm or cilantro
2 Tbls pine nuts or sunflower seeds
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
½ cup olive or sunflower oil
1 clove garlic or ramp bulbs and leaves
Lemon zest and juice to taste
Optional - Pinch of red pepper flakes
Kosher salt to taste

Put through a food processor
Bottle with a little oil to cover

Use in a pasta, on chicken or with a baked potato!

Get a taste of wow with our Rotary District 7040 Youth Exchange student from Gananoque ISS - UCDSB in his latest video showcasing extreme downhill skiing - a sport that balances technical precision and progressive freestyle elements.

At the end of March Alastair and his youth exchange friend attended the World Tour finale at the YETI Xtreme Verbier Bec des Rosses, Switzerland — a steep, technical, and rocky face that has defined freeride skiing.

Competitors took on a 3,223 meters terrain with a 600-meter vertical drop and 43-degree slopes. It is the steepest, most complex terrain on the FWT circuit.

It was another incredible year for the Rotary Club of Gananoque — truly People of Action in our community and beyond.

From the grand opening of Rotary Beach and the Great Lakes Watershed Clean-Up, to countless community events filled with fellowship and service, Rotary’s impact was felt everywhere. We proudly welcomed our Exchange Student Jane, supported community gardening initiatives, and continued vital donations to the Food Bank.

Signature events like Ribfest, the Christmas Craft Fair, and the first-ever Cruising with Santa brought people together and created unforgettable memories.

What a year of service, connection, and community spirit. 💙
