Think of it in these terms. A freshly amputated person arrives at a clinic with a leg missing. The clinician gives them a set of crutches and some painkillers and tells them, “You’re fit to run a marathon.” To a certain extent, this is what’s happening in mental health care: Take this drug, go back to the home or work stress, and you won’t feel your emotional un-wellness any longer. Or better yet, how long does it take to grow a brain? Nine months before it can support the body on its own and then a lifetime to learn and constantly rebuild.
It takes time to repair the damage of trauma. I had to take the time to adjust and rebuild holistically, as it isn’t a speed race, it is an endurance event. So, I had to make sure I could reach the finish line. In effect, I needed to allow time for my brain to code itself and become conscious.

This documentary weaves Fabian's personal story with the journeys of fellow veterans as they work through their healing process. The ups, the downs, and the breakthroughs that come from doing the hard work together.

The film is currently in post-production and set to launch in late summer 2026, with community screenings, festival showings, and streaming releases worldwide.

Graduates secure contracts with leading corporations like CBC, TORSTAR, SIRIUS XM, Cogeco, and SickKids.
