Next time you stop by the Chalmers Foundation Care & Support Centre, be sure to take a moment to enjoy the new artwork on our walls, generously donated by local artist Lewis E. Carr.
Lewis, pictured here (left) with Angie, Manager of Cancer Support (right), recently visited the Centre with his wonderful family to drop off two beautiful pieces. 'Bandstand in Wilmot Park' captures a beloved Fredericton landmark, inspired by a postcard discovered among family keepsakes. 'They’re Off' was created from a photo of one of the final harness racing events held at the Fredericton Raceway in 2016.
A lifelong resident, Lewis has always had a passion for drawing and art. He began painting in retirement and, as a self-taught artist, has continued to refine his craft, while also giving back as a mentor in local nursing care facilities. His artistic journey is one of ongoing discovery.
We are truly honoured to have these meaningful pieces as part of our space. 💙

Tomorrow Radiothon begins! Here's a reminder of exactly what your support makes possible.

Free programs like Stay Strong are designed to help people living with cancer feel stronger, move better, and reconnect with what matters most to them. According to Physiotherapist and Stay Strong Program Leader Jessica Vezeau, the impact goes far beyond the physical.

"Stay Strong helps [people with lived cancer experience] feel better and get back to what's important for them. It also provides them with social support in a non-clinical environment. They're out there trying, exercising and making those changes. It's inspiring."

No clinical setting. No pressure. Just a community of people choosing to show up for themselves and each other.

Tune in tomorrow and Saturday on HOT 93.1 or New Country 92.3, or come join us in person at Regent Mall, and help keep programs like this free for everyone in our community who needs them.

We’re excited to introduce Ecstatic Dance led by volunteer leader Emma Betts. This Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating young volunteers who are making a difference in meaningful ways.

Charlotte is a high school student who supports both programming and events at Chalmers Foundation, from leading dance programs at the Care & Support Centre to helping with fundraising events like Radiothon and Gin & Jazz Night.

Through her experience, she’s seen how powerful connection can be: “I get to see how the participants enjoy being together and supporting each other.”

Her dedication is a reminder that impact can start at any age. It begins with showing up for others.
