Did you know? The NIHB Program provides information and support in multiple languages.
We are proud to share resources in English, French, Wolastoqey, and Mi’kmaq — because accessing care starts with being heard and understood. 💬

🚨 Update on Ozempic coverage 🚨

Starting July 14, 2025, Ozempic moves from open benefit to limited use under NIHB.

If you're already receiving Ozempic, your coverage won’t change. For new requests, prior approval is now required — but don’t worry, most claims that meet the criteria will be approved automatically. If a claim doesn’t qualify right away, pharmacies can still submit a request to the NIHB Drug Exception Centre.

Ozempic remains covered for treating type 2 diabetes in adults, alongside metformin or similar meds.

Have questions? Reach out to your pharmacy or NIHB navigator!
