💜 A big thank you to the CISV Fredericton Junior Board for supporting Liberty Lane!

As part of a youth-led activity focused on Women’s Empowerment, the Junior Board reached out to ask how they could best support Liberty Lane and collected items we identified as current needs.

We’re so grateful to these young leaders for putting compassion and community into action! 💜

A huge thank you to The Cultural Centre for welcoming us yesterday and today and providing the perfect space for our training with our friends from Heart & Stroke NB!💜

When a space can do double duty, that's when you know it works. 📋

This week, our boardroom became a training room. The Cultural Centre and Liberty Lane teamed up for Intermediate First Aid training and certification through the Heart & Stroke NB — and the room handled every part of it.

The group moved seamlessly from the classroom presentation into hands-on practical exercises, all without leaving the room. Projector and screen for the lesson, plenty of table space to spread out, and space to get up and practise the skills that matter most.

Our boardroom seats up to 25 and comes equipped with a projector, screen and Bluetooth speaker. It's available seven days a week — ideal for workshops, training sessions, meetings and more.

✨Meet Our Team✨

My role focuses on:
Leading the day-to-day operations of Liberty Lane, including ensuring we have the financial and human resources needed to achieve our mission and support those we serve.

One part of my work I care most about:
Seeing survivors reclaim their lives while being part of such a supportive community.

Why this work matters to me:
As a survivor of intimate partner violence in my youth, this work allows me to use my experience for good, turning a difficult chapter of my life into meaningful work.

What people might not realize:
The emotional rollercoaster. The highest highs and the lowest lows often happen in the same day as you witness both the best and the worst in people. The profound rewards of this work are balanced by a significant risk of burnout, making it a career shaped by both compassion satisfaction and vicarious trauma.

A fun or light fact about me:
I was born, bred, and buttered in Wales. I'm passionate about Welsh culture and fiercely proud of the Welsh flag, Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon). 🐉

“You cannot control everything that happens to you. Focus on your response.”
