Take a look!

45% of employees in New Brunswick earned less than the provincial living wage of $24.62 in 2024.

The infographic, based on 2024 Labour Force Survey data, highlights the substantial gap between the minimum wage and what it costs to live in the province with dignity. The minimum wage of $15.65 is significantly lower than the living wage of $24.62.

It’s time for a serious conversation about wage adequacy and the cost of living in our province.

[đź’° BUDGET 2025-2026] Good news: care workers are getting wage increases for a 7th year in a row! Investissement de 20 millions $ dans ces augmentations salariales :

+2,00 $/h – Group homes / Foyers de groupe
+1,75 $/h – Community Residences / Résidences communautaires
+1,75 $/h – ESSP / PSSE
+2 % – PSWs / Préposé·es aux soins personnels

It’s a step forward — but not enough to achieve . PSWs, for example, are getting less than $0.40 an hour more — not even enough to keep up with inflation. 💔

L’écart salarial reste entre 5 $ et 7 $ de l’heure. On n’a jamais été aussi près de l’ , mais le personnel de soins mérite plus que des promesses — il mérite des actions concrètes !

✅ Quality care depends on quality jobs. C’est l’temps de légiférer l’équité salariale !
