Chalmers Foundation Together, we bring comfort, compassion, and stronger care to our community.

Proud to support innovation and well-being across our hospital and healthcare partners. The Chalmers Foundation hosts a number of events throughout the year to support their annual campaigns; projects which work to address the current needs of our hospital. Past projects have included the establishment of a new Cardiac Diagnostics Unit, the purchase of new bedside monitors for the Emergency Room and the purchase of a state-of-the-art digital mamography unit.

A heartfelt thank you to Fredericton - Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure for welcoming us back for this year's event on October 4! 🎀

Events like this remind us of the strength, resilience, and connection that exist within our community, and we were honoured to be part of such an inspiring day.

We were also thrilled to see our volunteer and Participant of Hope, Janet, stop by to say hello. Her positivity, resilience, and commitment to supporting others are a beautiful reflection of the caring community we're so proud to be part of.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us. We look forward to continuing to support individuals with lived cancer experience and their support persons throughout every stage of the cancer journey. 💕

Because of you, more people across Fredericton, the Upper River Valley, and New Brunswick received care close to home.

Last week, we gathered with donors, community leaders, physicians, and friends of the Chalmers Foundation to celebrate the remarkable progress of our Hybrid Operating Room campaign and to share what this investment will mean for patients and families across our region.

We are now more than 90% of the way toward our full campaign goal. The finish line is in sight, and we are asking our community to help us complete this important effort.

We were especially pleased to recognize Laurie and Glenna Savage for their generous support and leadership. We are also deeply grateful to Donna and Lincoln Thompson for opening their home and bringing people together around this important project.

Thank you as well to the surgeons and physicians who joined us and spoke firsthand about how the Hybrid OR will strengthen surgical care, support physician recruitment, and help more patients receive advanced care closer to home.

So many people have already helped bring us to this point. Now we are asking our community to help us finish what we started.

Every gift brings us closer.

Thank you to everyone who has already made this important investment in healthcare possible.

On Wednesday, members of the Wallace McCain Institute - WMI walked through the Care & Support Centre they helped bring to life, seeing firsthand the spaces their $75,000 contribution made possible.

Jenny Scott, one of the 15 alumni who gave toward naming recognition of the Empowerment Studio, shared why the centre resonated with her group.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Chalmers Foundation joins communities across the country in remembering the children who never came home and honouring Survivors, their families, and communities. 🧡

We are grateful to Shyanne Alexander-Barnaby (Natoaganeg First Nation), the artist behind this year's Orange T-Shirt. Shyanne's path connects art and health.

She has worked as a Respiratory Therapist and Indigenous Patient Navigator, and she now serves as a Health Transformation Coordinator with Mawiw, helping to build an Indigenous-led health authority. Her beadwork, painting, and sewing reflect a deep connection to traditional values, identity, resilience, and recovery.

Through the Chalmers Foundation Health & Wellness Grant, the DECRH Physiotherapy Department launched a 12-week program that helped people living with Parkinson’s disease build strength, improve balance, and stay connected.

By the end of the program, every participant had increased their walking speed and maintained or improved their endurance. But more than that, participants formed connections that continue today.
