Also, it rarely falls on the same day. Happy Administrative Professionals Day 2026! this day honors the essential contributions of administrative assistants, office managers, and support staff.

NBBOA 50th Anniversary Conference!

National Volunteer Week. NBBOA would like to take the time to thank all our volunteers this week on our numerous committees for their time and efforts.
This year we celebrated our Volunteer of the Year: Denessa Po***ck.
Denessa Po***ck has been a dedicated member of the New Brunswick Building Officials Association since beginning her career as a building inspector in December 2010. Today, she serves as Building Inspector and Development Officer for the Grand Bay-Westfield and has spent the past 15 years helping advance education within the building inspection profession.
Denessa attended her first NBBOA AGM in 2011. At that meeting, her former college classmate encouraged her to volunteer for the Education Committee. Coming from a family where both of her parents were teachers—and strong believers in the value of volunteerism—she didn’t need much convincing. She thought she was volunteering for a meeting… not a 15-year career.
Since joining the Education Committee, Denessa has worked alongside many dedicated professionals to improve training for building officials across the province. Over the years, she has helped advance course material, supported the introduction of online exams, worked to bring excellent instructors to NBBOA courses, and helped ensure members have access to strong maintenance and continuing education opportunities.
Thank you Denessa for your years of dedication to this industry.
