🎉 TOP UP TIME! 🎉
We’re proud to announce that we’re adding even more funds to the Fredericton Marathon Community Fund!
Earlier this year, the Fredericton Marathon launched the Fund in partnership with the Fredericton Community Foundation. This permanent endowment is designed to support our community for generations to come.
For 49 years, the Fredericton Marathon has brought people together through sport, celebration, and community spirit. Today, that legacy continues to grow. The Community Fund provides runners, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and residents with another meaningful way to give back to the city that has embraced this beloved event for nearly five decades.
How it works:
✅ Every contribution grows the Fund
✅ Donations are invested and stewarded by the Foundation forever
✅ Annual earnings support local charitable initiatives aligned with the Marathon's mission
✅ All donations, large or small, receive an official tax receipt

Today, we're celebrating the people, places, and shared sense of community that make our province such a special place to call home.

From our rich history and vibrant cultures to the kindness we show one another every day, there's so much to be proud of and grateful for. It's these connections that continue to shape a stronger, more welcoming future for generations to come.

🌍 A stronger community begins with understanding one another.

That’s what the , presented by the Multicultural Association of Fredericton Inc., is all about.

Through music, food, art, performances, and shared experiences, the festival brings people together to celebrate the many cultures that make our community stronger, creating opportunities to connect, learn, and belong.

For more than just one day, the Cultural Expressions Festival reminds us that diversity is something to celebrate, and that the strongest communities are built when everyone feels welcome.

We’re proud that, through our Community Grants program, we’ve been able to support initiatives like the Cultural Expressions Festival that help build a more connected and inclusive community.

We’re grateful to work alongside organizations like MCAF that create spaces where our community can come together, learn from one another, and grow together.

🌈 Pride is about creating spaces where everyone feels they belong.

That’s exactly what the Charlotte Street Arts Centre’s ArtReach programs are doing.

Through music, photography, and creativity, ArtReach provides welcoming, barrier-free spaces where LGBTQIA+, newcomer, Indigenous, and equity-deserving youth can build confidence, express themselves, and connect with others.

For more than three years, our Community Grants program has helped support ArtReach, strengthening a partnership built on creativity, inclusion, and belonging.

This Pride, we’re celebrating organizations that help create a community where everyone can belong, not just today, but every day.

What happens after a grant is awarded?

Sometimes, it looks like early mornings, dedicated volunteers, and thousands of meals delivered across our community.

Recently, our team joined Meals on Wheels of Fredericton Inc. to see firsthand how food, connection, and care come together to support people throughout our region—to see what happens beyond our granting programs.

We learned that behind every delivery is a tremendous community effort. Friendly faces, wellness checks, and a reminder that the work we do together creates a ripple effect that reaches further than we could ever imagine.

This is what happens when generosity meets action.

We’re grateful to work alongside organizations that build a stronger community every day. And with your continued support, we can help more local causes create lasting impact across our region.

Fifty years is something worth celebrating.

Last night, we had the pleasure of joining the Saint John Community Foundation as they celebrated 50 years of bringing people together to strengthen their community.
It was an evening dedicated to the people who make that impact possible, staff, board members, volunteers, donors, and community partners, whose generosity and commitment have shaped the greater Saint John region over the past five decades.

Congratulations to the entire team on this incredible milestone. We were honoured to celebrate with you, and we can't wait to see what the next 50 years bring! 🎉

It's impossible not to feel hopeful when you meet young people like Alexa Losier and Sara Jassani.

This year's recipients of the Robert Morimanno Memorial Scholarship have already shown what leadership looks like. On the soccer field, in their schools, and throughout their community.

Through sport, they've learned resilience, teamwork, confidence, and the importance of lifting others up along the way. As they head off to pursue their post-secondary education, we're excited to see where those qualities take them next.

The Robert Morimanno Memorial Scholarship was created to support students who demonstrate these values, and Alexa and Sara are wonderful examples of that spirit in action.

Congratulations, Alexa and Sara. Our community is lucky to have you, and we're cheering you on every step of the way. ⚽🎓

Today, we join our community in celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day.

It’s a day to recognize and honour the cultures, histories, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, and to celebrate the vibrant Indigenous communities that help shape our region.

We wish everyone a meaningful day of learning, celebration, and connection.

We had the opportunity to attend the Annual General Meeting of Meals on Wheels of Fredericton and hear firsthand about the impact they are making in our community.

One message stayed with us throughout the day: for some Meals on Wheels recipients, their delivery driver may be the only person they see that day.

Through a thoughtful presentation from Marie-Paule LeBlanc of the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, we learned how these daily connections can play an important role in supporting the well-being of older adults and recognizing changes that may signal the early onset of dementia.

We also heard about the growing demand for Meals on Wheels services. Since 2021, the organization has nearly doubled the number of meals delivered annually, from 71,705 to 139,103 meals.

Behind every meal is a volunteer, a conversation, a wellness check, and a reminder that no one should feel alone.

Thank you to the Meals on Wheels team for the invitation and for the incredible work you do every day. We are grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn, and celebrate the organizations helping our community thrive.
