The Nashwaaksis Y Service Club is a group of men and women committed to supporting youth and seniors activities in Fredericton, with an emphasis on Fredericton North. Affliated with the YMCA, the Club manages and operates the canteen at Willie O'Ree Place on Cliffe Street and offers community breakfasts on the fourth Saturday of each month from September to April with the exception of December, in
the Community Rooms of Willie O’Ree Place. Further, the Club also generates revenue from the rental of arena board advertising space at Willie O’Ree Place and selling Christmas trees in the parking lot of the Main Street Home Hardware. Over the years, the Club’s has supported the building of many of the ball fields, tennis courts, swimming pools and playgrounds in the area. The Club has also supported and sponsored a variety of boys and girls sports programs and music programs such as the junior pipe band; school music programs; and other social programs such as Park St School's Youth at Risk, therapeutic horseback riding, Brendan Oreto Needy Kids Program, Fredericton Food Bank, Fredericton Community Kitchen, chapel in York Care Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Leo Hayes Safe Grad; and the list goes on and on.
