Send your leftover school supplies on a side quest: drop them off at Greener Village and they'll help unlock a better September for someone in need.

Last year, our Backpack & Basics program helped 850+ kids start their school year with backpacks, supplies and confidence. We can't do it without the support of our community: donate items in person Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm or donate online anytime https://www.greenervillage.ca/donate-money/

A huge thank you to the students from NBCC who spent the day helping prepare our gardens for a successful growing season! 🌱

The group worked hard shoveling and spreading mulch between our raised garden beds, helping suppress weeds, improve accessibility, and create a welcoming space for everyone who uses our gardens.

Their efforts will help support community members who grow their own fresh food through our community garden program, while also strengthening our own growing initiatives that provide produce for grocery boxes. We are grateful for their energy, teamwork, and commitment to making a difference in our community.

This week, Greener Village's Alex Boyd and Erin Pelerine were in Ottawa to do something about New Brunswick's F grade. πŸ“‹

New Brunswick was the only province in Canada to receive a failing grade on Food Banks Canada's 2026 Poverty Report Card, and that's not a number we can ignore. We joined advocates and lawmakers to talk about what comes next.

The Honourable Karina Gould hosted the breakfast, and we had the chance to sit down with MP Richard Bragdon and Senator Dawn Arnold (former Mayor of Moncton) among others to discuss concrete, actionable steps to improve our province's grade, and more importantly, the real lived experiences behind it.

NB deserves better. We're at the table fighting for it. πŸ’š

The growing season is officially underway at Greener Village! Our gardens are prepared and some growth has already started. Sprouts are sprouting, flowers are blooming and the bees are buzzing with excitement for the fresh, local vegetables that will feed families in our community.

We also provide community garden beds for the public to grow their own food with us, and we provide all the tools and expertise they need. This helps build a stronger, more resilient and food secure community πŸ’ͺπŸ’š
