📣 National AccessAbility Week 2026 | Saint John

Saint John is proud to be the Provincial Kick‑Off City for National AccessAbility Week (NAAW) 2026! 🎉

National AccessAbility Week takes place May 31 – June 6, 2026 and is a Canada‑wide celebration that recognizes the importance of accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities. NAAW raises awareness of barriers—physical, social, and systemic—while highlighting solutions, successes, and the contributions of people with disabilities in our communities.

🌟 2026 Theme: Accessibility Creates Full Inclusion
This year’s theme reminds us that true inclusion can only happen when accessibility is built in from the start. When we remove barriers and design spaces, services, and opportunities to be accessible, everyone benefits.

As the provincial kick‑off city, Saint John will lead the way with a full week of inclusive events, beginning with the NAW Provincial Kick‑Off Family Fun Day on May 31.

🗓️ Events planned throughout the week include:
Job Fair Career Expo
NAW Provincial Kick‑Off & Family Fun Day
Proclamation & Flag Raising
Sports for All (adaptive sport experience)
I Spy Accessible Uptown SJ
Red Shirt Day®
Walk & Roll Challenge

👉 More details about each event will be shared soon.
Please share this post to help celebrate accessibility and spread the message that accessibility creates full inclusion.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Randy
Dickinson — a true pillar of our community and a remarkable advocate for inclusion, accessibility, and human dignity.

Randy’s kindness, generosity, leadership, and unwavering dedication touched countless lives across New Brunswick and beyond. He was an extraordinary force for positive change, helping to found and lead numerous committees, organizations, and initiatives, including the New Brunswick Premier’s Council on Disabilities and New Brunswick Disability Awareness Week.

The list of boards, committees, and organizations Randy served throughout his life is extensive, but what stands out most is the impact he had on people. He inspired others through his compassion, wisdom, advocacy, and belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and included.

His legacy will continue through the many lives he changed, the communities he strengthened, and the important work he helped build.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives were touched by Randy.

*********
