Recognizable by the echo of its eerie call, the common loon can be found close to shore on most seacoasts and in many inland reservoirs. While common loons are powerful, agile swimmers, they are less suited to land and typically only come to shore to nest.

Mostly found in eastern countries this old-world water bird can be found along our coastal waters during the breeding season. With minimally waterproofed feathers these birds spend most of their day sunbathing with their wings wide open after dives looking for fish.

So far this year our ducks have been active enough for the squirrels to stay out of the nests, but that doesn't mean they aren't around! Enjoy this adorable little tree hop from the local grey squirrel while we wait on an update from inside our nest boxes!

These birds are probably one of the most recognizable species of bird for most. With stark black bodies, a loud caw, and tendency to let their intelligence get them in trouble, these birds are both friend and foe of many. Pick them out in fright against similar birds like ravens by their rounded tail and smaller size.
