Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators The Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) represents CAOs/City Managers and their direct reports from across Canada.

With more than 1,000 members, CAMA is committed to advancing administrative excellence in local government. The Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators is a national, non-profit association open to all Chief Administrative Officers/City Managers and any person employed in a senior management position that reports directly to the CAO. CAMA has a membership of approximately 500 City Manager

The highly regarded professional development program has two cohorts for next year. The establish one for Chief Administrative Officers and direct reports, as well as a new cohort designed specifically for emerging leaders within CAMA member municipalities.

🟩 Cohort 1 (Jan 26–29, 2027)
Tailored for CAOs and direct reports who are CAMA members. If these dates don’t fit your schedule, the same program and curriculum will be offered in Cohort 2.

🟫 Cohort 2 (Jan 31 – Feb 3, 2027)
Expands access to include emerging leaders – municipal staff who are not currently eligible for CAMA membership. Participation is tied to a municipality with an active CAMA member.

Looking for a simpler way to procure ERP systems, project management, or consulting services for your organization?

CAMA is pleased to announce that the Canoe Procurement Group of Canada is hosting a free webinar on Wednesday, June 17, where they will introduce their new ERP program.

The session is called “Simplifying Service Procurement Through Canoe – From ERP to Project Delivery.” They will walk participants through how its flexible contracting approach simplifies service procurement, from scoping a project to engaging vendors and getting to delivery faster.

Presenters Stéphanie Dion, NIGP-CPP, CPPB and Antonio De Sciscio, NISCL-CSCL/CSCMP, MCIPS will also cover how this streamlined procurement model applies to other service areas, including project management and professional advisory services.

(Le français suit.) Our introduction to the new CAMA Board of Directors executive continues with Raffaelle Di Stasio, who assumes the role of Second Vice-President.

Raffaelle is the City Manager for the City of Montréal-Ouest, QC, and serves as CAMA’s representative for Québec. She previously held the position of Treasurer for the association, bringing valuable experience and a strong commitment to municipal leadership to her new role.

ONE WEEK LEFT! Register today for the upcoming KBRS webinar called “Performance Evaluation That Works: A CAO Focused Session.” It will take place on June 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EST.

Strong leadership starts with meaningful performance evaluations. This webinar is designed specifically to help Chief Administrative Officers.

It will explore how effective performance evaluations can strengthen communication, improve alignment, reduce misunderstandings, and create shared understanding of goals and measures across municipal leadership.

Participants will gain actionable tools and frameworks tailored to the realities of Canadian local government leadership, including strategies to support fair and constructive evaluations for CAOs themselves.
