SALT MARSH WORKSHOP HIGHLY ENGAGEMENT

Swarna Naojee's stage presentation was followed by a super engaging workshop. Who would ever think a room full of Rotarians would get excited about saving salt marshes.

Rotarians often tell us they see no benefit in joining in an alliance with a local Toastmasters club. But Rotarians have a story to tell and Toastmasters pocess an amazing ability to help the audience enter a story. When the local clubs of the two organizations get together, you never know the impact.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHT

Sunday Morning's plenary session was amazing! Environmental educator, educator Swarna Naojee, presented her presentation "The Voice Of The Salt Marsh", a speech that won her first place at the Toastmasters District 45 International Speech Contest last month. Those present were captivated by her presentation and
highly engaged in the workshop she led following.

Swarna is a coastal scientist and environmental facilitator dedicated to fostering coastal stewardship and climate resilience within communities.

She completed her Master’s in Environmental Management at the University of New Brunswick, where she used remote sensing to study vegetation change in the salt marshes of the Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick.

Passionate about bridging research and community action, Swarna designs hands-on stewardship initiatives that makes complex environmental science accessible to all. She specializes in coastal wetland ecology, environmental education, and bilingual science communication, helping communities, including youth, connect more deeply with the landscapes that protect them.

PEACE RUN GETS A SNEAK PEAK OF
THE COMMUNITY PEACE GARDEN

Although not complete yet the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run got to tour the Community Peace Garden- Mapleton Park Moncton. Shown in the picture with the runners are members of the Community Peace Garden Committee.

PEACE RUN VISITS MONCTON

Gamechangers Gerene Robichaud and Darlene Doiron hold the peace torch. The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run visited Moncton a week ago Friday. Robichaud and Doiron were part of a team of Gamechangers and others who organized the Peace Run's stop in the city.

The Run which began May 25 in Halifax ends June 9. They have journeyed along Nova Scotia's South Shore to Yarmouth, along the French Shore to Digby, across the Bay of Fundy by ferry, Saint John, Gagetown, Oromocto, Fredericton, Sussex, Moncton, Shediac, Summerside, Charlottetown and are now back in Nova Scotia where they will end where they began this Atlantic Run in Halifax.

GAMECHANGERS AT THE PEACE FORUM

Love it that five of our Gamechangers Atlantic were onboard for the Peace Forum on Friday afternoon of the District 7815 Conference. Proud that Gamechanger Anne-Marie Collette was part of the planning and leadership team for the session.

Gamechangers Atlantic is a peacebuilder club of Rotary International. Our focus in programming and service is on peace. We meet online and serve in person through our clusters which are in Moncton and Fredericton. We are looking to add clusters in other areas of Atlantic Canada.
