CARMA Cat Rescue Maritimes Fredericton Chapter We are the Fredericton Chapter of Cat Rescue Maritimes (CARMA). CARMA is an all volunteer registered charity ( ).

We have no paid employees and no support from any corporate sponsor,foundation or government agency. We depend entirely on donations and the fund raising efforts of our volunteers. Donations to the Fredericton Chapter may be sent via e-transfer to [email protected] or mailed to PO Box 30078, Fredericton, E3B 0H8. All donations will be acknowledged with an official income tax receipt.

We want to say an extra special thank mew to our friends at Pet Valu Fredericton and Pet Valu Two Nations including their wonderful staff and patrons, for their continued support whether it be through fostering cats, collecting donations for us, hosting us on weekends (like THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17th - see below for details), or through events like their June Pet Appreciation Month and this month's Thanks for Giving Campaign - they truly go above and beyond to support local rescues in their community!

For their June Pet Appreciation Month, staff and patrons at Pet Valu Fredericton (Main Street) and Pet Valu Two Nations raised money for the cats of CARMA Fredericton and these funds will go towards medical expenses.

This month, they are hosting their Thanks for Giving Campaign which will include a few ways you and they can support rescues like CARMA, through initiatives like their Round Up Fur Love, and their One Item. One Dollar for Pets. (See attached for more details) or ask your friendly local staff for more information.

Our wonderful volunteers will be hanging out with the team at Pet Valu (Main Street) this Saturday, October 17th from 11:30 to 1pm where our team will be selling tickets to our new raffle basket (you won't want to miss it!). We hope you'll come by and say hello!

Please meet our Cats of the Day:

Say hello to Heidi, Morgan and Garcia! These three ladies have fallen in love with each other and would love to be together forever. If you have a nice big cat bed you will see all 3 of them cuddling with each other!

Garcia (Calico/tabby) is amazing with human interaction. She loves all the attention she can get, especially brushing and belly rubs! Garcia enjoys being the mother of this mini pack; even though she has never had kittens of her own, she instinctively watches over Heidi and Morgan. When Garcia cuddles in bed, she enjoys laying on top of her human, looking down at all of her subjects. Sometimes she will present a paw to the other cats laying around her human, sometimes she will just lean back and look like royalty.

Morgan (black and white) is the shyest of the trio but she will soon open up and come to get pets with the other cats. She has made great strides in trust and will seek love in the bathroom if you accidently leave the door open, or in the kitchen. She will also be curious if she sees other cats getting attention. She will come over slowly and sniff your hand while you are petting another cat

Heidi (grey and white) Is now glutton for attention, When she thinks you are free, she will stand on her tall tower and lightly meow for some pets. She will respond and talk back to you if you start the conversation with "Hey Mom". She started to snuggle with humans in bed, so she will keep you warm in the winter. When she thinks you may have had enough screen time, she will lightly nibble you, indicating to put your phone down and give her some love. She enjoys head rubs and will open up to belly rubs with enough patience.

Morgan is still shy around humans but enjoys snuggling up with the other 2 cats. She will need someone who will take their time to get to know her- while Heidi and Garcia will be up front and center, especially if you have a brush! They all come running and rub up against your legs when it is snack time.

Please consider adopting this terrific trio together into your home. They are just the sweetest and would make a perfect addition to a loving home. If you can’t adopt them, please share their story and help them find their forever home.

Please meet our cat of the day!

Raya (DSH female grey tabby) and is polydactyl. This little girl had a very rough start after being rescued by CARMA in -25 degree winter weather. She is approximately 8 years old.

She is a shy girl, who doesn’t like sudden noises and enjoys spending her time relaxing in a quiet spot in a cat tree or comfy chair. Once in a while you can sneak a pat on her head before she notices you, then runs off to hide. She loves treats, cat trees and toys to play with.

Adjusting to a new home will take time and patience, and would do best in a very quiet home with no children.

She is used to the other cats in her foster home, but adjusting to new cats in a new home may be a long process. That said, she would likely benefit from a confident feline companion in her forever home. Raya has no known health issues.

Please consider adopting Raya into your loving home. If you can’t adopt her, please share her story and help her find her forever home.

Please meet our cat of the day!

Juliann and her brothers Holden, Clark, and Brooks, were found outside living under a pile of brush after their mom was trapped.

In foster care they have become loving kittens, purring when they are picked up and they love following their foster mom around.

This busy bunch are always in a hurry for their wet food and are crazy about squeeze up treats. (They are also always wanting to investigate and hopefully share whatever you're eating.)

They are always cuddling together, sometimes piling together on their foster's lap.

Juliann's dream would be to be adopted with one of her brothers.

Please consider adopting Juliann into your loving home. If you can't adopt her, please share her story and help her find her forever home.

Holden and his sister Juliann and brothers Clark, and Brooks, were found outside living under a pile of brush after their mom was trapped.

We're excited to be launching a new raffle to round out 2026!

This year, each ticket will enter you in for a chance to win a prize pack valued at over $1100!!!!!

Thanks to the wonderful individuals and businesses who donated items to make this possible, this year's Raffle is packed FULL of goodies!
