Sometimes, a small moment reminds us why this work matters.
At The Gaia Project, environmental education is about more than understanding the world around us. It’s also about recognizing and honouring the knowledge, relationships, and responsibilities that have shaped these lands for generations.
As we continue our reconciliation journey, we are committed to working alongside community Knowledge Keepers, listening with humility, and continuing to learn how we can honour the Peace and Friendship Treaties through our work.
We know this is an ongoing journey of learning, relationship-building, and action. Through education, we hope to create space for young people to deepen their connection to the land and their understanding of our shared responsibilities to one another and to the environment.

Parfois, un petit moment suffit pour nous rappeler pourquoi notre travail est si important.
Au Projet Gaia, l’éducation à l’environnement va au-delà de la compréhension du monde qui nous entoure. Il s’agit aussi de reconnaître et d’honorer les savoirs, les relations et les responsabilités qui façonnent ces terres depuis des générations.
Alors que nous poursuivons notre cheminement vers la réconciliation, nous nous engageons à collaborer avec les gardien·ne·s du savoir de nos communautés, à écouter avec humilité et à continuer d’apprendre comment nous pouvons honorer les traités de paix et d’amitié à travers notre travail.
Nous savons qu’il s’agit d’un cheminement continu, fondé sur l’apprentissage, le développement de relations et le passage à l’action. Par l’éducation, nous souhaitons créer des occasions pour les jeunes d’approfondir leur lien avec le territoire et leur compréhension de nos responsabilités communes les uns envers les autres et envers l’environnement.
