Skills Launch is an employability program designed for newcomers 18 & over. Participants explore Canadian workplace culture, the local labour market, interview skills, resume building & much more. Participants also receive wellness coaching, health and safety training, & work experience through a paid job placement!

Skill Launch Program

Skills Launch is a youth employability program that was founded in 2017. Renewed for 2020-2023, Skills Launch is launching its 4th cohort of participants this fall.

The Skills Launch program is designed to help immigrant youth explore their career options, gain local work experience and understand the Canadian work and education environment. This program will help immigrant young adults make steps toward their career dreams and empower them to play key roles in the future of the province.

Over the year, Skills Launch participants will enjoy a blend of experiential learning (classroom and virtual) and workplace experience, that explores diverse economic sectors and opportunities in New Brunswick.

While in the program you will:

Learn about various occupations, employment skills, and Canadian workplace culture.

Participate in Workplace Health and Safety Training and get a certificate.

Attend a 16-week in-class training with living expenses provided.

Complete a 26-week paid work experience/internship

This program can help you:

Increase your confidence in your skills and abilities.

Help you discover your potential and become more independent.

Provide you with 6 months of Canadian work experience and mentorship.

Potentially offer a full-time employment opportunity.
