Built by local residents and militia to defend the harbour from American privateers, this small but mighty seaside fort stands as the only remaining blockhouse in Canada constructed for the War of 1812.

⚔️ Experience:
• Explore the restored barracks room and storage loft
• Try on a British Royal Artillery uniform
• Discover how soldiers defended the town from harbour attacks
• Take in stunning seaside views and watch the dramatic tides of the Bay of Fundy

🏥 Entrez dans un chapitre marquant de l’histoire du Nouveau-Brunswick au Musée Historique de Tracadie.

Ce musée unique offre un aperçu de la vie dans un lazaret du XIXe siècle — le seul site du genre au Canada à présenter à quoi ressemblait un tel établissement à l’époque. Grâce à ses expositions, les visiteurs peuvent découvrir les premières pratiques de soins de santé, l’éducation en français et les histoires des premières familles de la région, façonnées par le travail des Religieuses Hospitalières de Saint-Joseph.

🚶 Ne manquez pas le sentier patrimonial menant au cimetière des lépreux, avec une nouvelle version bilingue lancée en juin.

🏥 Step into a powerful chapter of New Brunswick’s past at the Musée Historique de Tracadie.

This unique museum offers a glimpse into life in a 19th-century l***r hospital — the only site of its kind in Canada to present what such a facility looked like at the time. Through its exhibits, visitors can explore early healthcare practices, French-language education, and the stories of the region’s first families, all shaped by the work of the Religious Hospitalliers of St. Joseph.

Le calendrier des pow-wow de 2026 est prêt, et le premier événement aura lieu ce vendredi 19 juin, dans la Première Nation de Sitansisk, à Fredericton.

Alors que nous soulignons la Journée nationale des peuples autochtones, dimanche, nous encourageons tout le monde à participer à un pow-wow cet été et à découvrir les cultures wolastoqey et mi’gmaq qui ont façonné le Nouveau-Brunswick.
