Today, our Adult Day Program participants hopped on the YCC bus and headed for JPM for some delicious ice cream and great company 😋. Everyone had a fantastic time!

✨ Meet Linda ✨

Linda has been a dedicated volunteer with York Care Centre for 7 years and has spent the past 2 years supporting our Adult Day Program. In her time with us, she has become a familiar and friendly face, known for her kindness, humour, and the genuine connections she builds with each participant.

Her favourite part of volunteering?
“The best part is the connection I make with the participants and seeing their smiles when I walk in the door. We laugh a lot and enjoy new experiences together, from art and trivia to music and more.”

Linda encourages others to get involved, sharing:
“If someone is looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity, the Adult Day Program is the place to be.”

Now retired, Linda enjoys spending her free time in the kitchen, cooking a diverse range of dishes inspired by different cultures.

Meet some of the amazing faces behind our Home Support team ✨

Kara, Sarah, and Kerstin rotate throughout our program, bringing flexibility, compassion, and a whole lot of heart to every day. With their extensive experience supporting older adults, they bring a deep understanding, patience, and personalized approach that helps each client feel comfortable, respected, and truly cared for.

As Sarah puts it: “It’s all about living every day to the fullest, sharing laughs, and giving the kind of care we’d want for our own families.”

We’re so lucky to have this incredible team making a difference every single day!
