🏒 Mackenzie Hockey League – Fort Vermilion Teams A & B

We are excited to share that 24 players have registered for the upcoming season! With 24 players, we have enough players to form two Fort Vermilion teams — Team A and Team B.

Fort Vermilion Teams A & B will meet for the first time on October 2.

⚠️ Please make sure to bring your registered player. All players must come fully equipped with their complete hockey gear and be ready to go on the ice.

Players will participate in on-ice activities so that we can assess their hockey skills. Based on what we observe, we will divide the players into Team A and Team B as evenly and fairly as possible.

During the meeting, we will also discuss important details for the upcoming season, including:

• Hockey league rules
• Upcoming game schedule
• Team practice schedules
• League and practice fees
• Other important information for the season

Since we have several important decisions to make together, please arrive on time so we can get started promptly.

Additional information will also be sent to the email address used when registering, so please make sure to check your email.

We’ve been working hard to make our arena brighter, cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for the upcoming season!

All of the lights in the dressing rooms, hallways, and bleacher areas have been replaced, and additional lighting has been installed throughout the arena to improve visibility and create a brighter, more comfortable space for everyone.

Inside the arena, the walls have been repainted white and cleaned up to remove old puck marks. The bleachers and floors have also been repainted, giving the arena a cleaner and refreshed look for the new season.

Our arena may not be the newest or most modern facility, but it is an important gathering place for our community. Within the budget available to us, we’ve focused on practical improvements that make the facility safer, brighter, cleaner, and more enjoyable for players, families, spectators, and everyone who walks through our doors.

Every improvement is part of our commitment to taking care of the facilities our community shares and creating a place where people can play, connect, and enjoy time together.

We’re excited to welcome everyone back and hope you enjoy the improvements this season!

FORT VERMILION CURLING LEAGUE,
2026/2027 season!

Fort Vermilion curling club is looking for teams to join this years Curling League. The season will start sometime in November.
Games will occur once a week, team fees are $200/team for the year. Minimum 4 people per team.
Amount of games will depend on number of teams.
No experience required! This league is just a fun winter sporting event.

The Fort Vermilion Curling Club is currently searching for volunteers who would like to be on a curling club committee!

No experience required, just searching for individuals who are interested in making the curling club in town a positive winter element to the community.

Roles would include:
- attendance at meetings,
- involvement in planning for bonspiels,
- occasional event set up,
- bartending (if you have Alberta pro-serve course),
- being part of a great team!

The Curling season will start sometime in October or November.

We are planning to keep the Splash Park open until September 7 and close it for the season after that.

With temperatures expected to drop significantly and colder weather on the way, the Splash Park will be closed for the season after September 7.

This is a volunteer coaching position.

With 22–23 youth players registered, we will be dividing the players into Team A and Team B.

We are looking for two volunteer coaches who can commit to spending 1.5 to 2 hours once a week with the players for practices and games.
