Just like Carter would make friends wherever he went he continues to bring people together. Tonight a friend from Salmon Arm ended up at the Liard River Hotsprings at the same time good friends from Fort St John were visiting. A random meeting that may have ended in simple hello turned into a hour long fireside conversation because both were wearing their CK shirts. We absolutely love hearing stories like this and love how a simple shirt or hat is bringing people together and making random friendships in random places all while supporting the society.

This past week SD60 once again hosted Project Heavy Duty in Fort St John. We were able to offer 2 Bursaries to two outstanding individuals that showed great operator abilities as chosen by their foreman. The bursaries are eligible to help further their education or fund work related items such as PPE to help them get a jump start into their selected fields. Congratulations to Eve Infeld and Hudson Jansen and also a big thank you to Kathy Wolsey for presenting on behalf of the society. https://www.prn.bc.ca/programs/project-heavy-duty/

Thank you to David Alexander and the NEBC Chill organization for honouring Carter with an award in his memory. Good times and good memories from Carters youth. Congratulations Walker on receiving this award.

NEBC Chill Hockey Club is proud to announce the recipient of our 1st annual Carter Kosick Memorial Award — Walker Huhn.

This award was presented to a player who represents the game of hockey both on and off the ice and enjoys the comradery as much as he loves the game. Carter’s character inspired his teammates, his work ethic drove his successes and his leadership elevated his team.

Walker exemplifies all of these characteristics and we are honoured to recognize him as the first recipient of this memorial award.

Congratulations, Walker Huhn

Hoody orders have arrived! They look great. Thank you to Diana’s Monogramming for your continued contributions to the society.

Also to Raquel Marchiel with Silver Sage Designs for helping with the logo.

Salmon Arm pickup at our house is available starting tomorrow April 4th. Just text or DM to make a plan.

Fort St John will have a date coming soon and they will be able to be picked up at Central Emporium behind the Cultural Centre April 14th.

For those outside the two pickup spots that paid for shipping they will be getting sent out early next week.

Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser, because of you the society is doing some pretty cool things in Carters memory.

If you missed out on ordering a hoody, we will be posting a link for ready made society hoodies in a few different colors.
