the annual meeting for our local is this Thursday, 5:30pm at the Pomeroy sport centre.
Local committee positions for the next season are established at this meeting
Local coordinator - chairs the meetings, helps with decision making, volunteers at events, follows SOBC policies in operations of our local
Program coordinator - overseas sport programs and coaches, brings coach requests to monthly meetings along with reports of how programs are running. Assists with sport budgets, travel arrangements etc.
Treasurer - bookkeeping ( we have a volunteer for this role), attends meetings, bank balancing, check writing, etc
Fundraising and PR - we have 3 events a year that the local participates in - Toonie K walk a thon, the golf tournament and the Tim Hortons donut campaign. This person organizes volunteers for these events, organizes the Toonie K walk a thon, and the golf tournament - this event is our largest event and is planned over several months.
Secretary - takes minutes at the meetings, volunteers and assists as needed with fundraising events. ( we have a secretary who may still let her name stand for this position)
Registration - we have a volunteer who will do our online registration for us, will not be required to attend monthly meetings, but always welcome to attend.
Equipment coordinator - takes care of our storage locker with equipment and fundraising items stored in it.
Volunteer coordinator - helps assist new volunteers get orientated into our program positions. Looks for new volunteers.
Athlete Rep - this is an athlete that participates in our programs. They attend the monthly meetings and bring any questions/concerns from athletes to the local committee.
