A big part of what we do at FSJACL is helping individuals connect with their community.

Whether it's attending local events, exploring hobbies and interests, volunteering, building friendships, or developing new skills, these connections help create meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Community isn't just a place. It's a sense of belonging.

"πŸš”πŸŽ€ The interviewer gets interviewd! πŸš”πŸŽ€

After spending the summer interviewing our Jail & Bail participants, Kayla Braun, FSJACL's Special Projects Summer Student, finally found herself answering the questions.

Joined by Jared Braun, FSJACL's Stewardship Manager, the two sat down to talk about this year's Jail & Bail fundraiser, why THRIVE is such an important program in our community, and what it's been like connecting with all of our incredible inmates.

Kayla has spent months helping bring Jail & Bail to life, filming interviews, creating content, and helping spread the word. Now it's her turn to answer a few questions of her own.

Check out their interview and learn more about the people working behind the scenes to make Jail & Bail a success.

πŸš”πŸ€  Kyla Runacres has been arrested! πŸ€ πŸš”

A Registered Psychiatric Nurse, community wellness worker with Doig River First Nation, casual nurse at the Fort St. John Hospital, dedicated mom, and rodeo enthusiast... Kyla already wears a lot of hats. Now she can add Jail & Bail inmate to the list. 🧑

In her interview, Kyla shared why mental health support is so important, drawing on both her professional experience and her passion for helping people in our community thrive. You'll even hear her daughter in the background, because motherhood doesn't exactly take a day off. πŸ˜…

And while Kyla may have agreed to go to jail, she's making it clear who should be helping her get out.

🚨 Laura Honey, Saplings Director of Clinical Services, has been called out as the first person expected to contribute to Kyla's bail fund... after all, Laura was the one who nominated her for arrest in the first place! 🚨

Now it's up to Laura and the rest of the community to help make bail while supporting THRIVE our local mental health and wellness program.

πŸš”βš½ Samantha Loeppky has been arrested! βš½πŸš”

As the Technical Director for the FSJ Soccer Club, Samantha is passionate about helping young athletes grow both on and off the field. In her Jail & Bail interview, she shared why staying active is so important for mental health and how sports can play a big role in building confidence, connection, and overall well-being. 🧑

When asked who would be the first to help make bail, Samantha didn't hesitate. She says her husband will likely be the first one to contribute... mostly because he doesn't want to be left doing all the work with the kids. πŸ˜…

Check out Samantha's interview to hear more about her passion for youth sports, mental health, and why she said yes to getting arrested for a great cause.
