Fort St. John Professional Fire Fighters Association Welcome to the official page of the Fort St. John Professional Fire Fighters Association.

As part of 3,800 career fire fighters in British Columbia, your Fort St. John Fire Fighters are trained to provide many services other than the traditional role of fire suppression. We work daily to hone our skills in such disciplines as High angle (hi-rise), Tower crane, Mountain, and Confined-space rescue; Hazardous materials response; Heavy rescue (industrial type accidents); Auto extrication (motor vehicle accidents); First Responder emergency medical response; Fire safety inspections; Fire prevention education programs and other critical tasks relating to emergency response and emergency rescue.

As emergency responders, we often work very closely with the local organizations who support our city’s vulnerable population. We were on a recent call when one of our members was confronted with a very glaring need in our community. The desire to help is an ever-present part of the job, and it led to our member asking, “is there anything that can be done?”

The wonderful staff at the Woman’s Resource Center helped us come up with a plan, and today we present a donation towards the “From 0-6 Program”, which will help low-income mothers provide nutritious meals for their young children! Grocery bills are rising but that doesn’t mean that our youth don’t deserve the chance at a well-balanced diet and the benefits that come with that.

Not only will the WRS be able to double the amount each mother gets, but we will also be able to open up more spots in the program as well! It’s a drop in the bucket, but we truly hope that we can help make a difference in the community we call home ❤️🚒

Briggs made a very special field trip last week! 🐾🚒

Our local McDonald’s has generously sponsored the supply of our Briggs pups and we were excited to join Brian and his team to celebrate the grand opening of their newest location!
We are so appreciative of the support for this program and couldn’t ask for a better community sponsor.

Congrats on the newest venture! 🎉

Last night was truly a full circle moment for the Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society.

When our charity was first starting out, we were blessed to be the donation recipient at the 100 Woman Who Care event. An event that brings together over 100 community members, each pledging $100, and local charities are invited to present their causes for the opportunity to receive the funds raised.

It was such an incredible boost to our initiative and helped many families with much needed medical travel funds.

Now, thanks to the continued generosity of our community, we were able to pay that forward and present a matching donation to the second contender at the inaugural 100 Men Who Give a Damn event!

We are so grateful for this opportunity and can’t thank everyone enough who believes in our charity and what we do. Congrats to both recipients 4U Youth and FSJ Cancer Support Circles Society, we can’t wait to see the amazing things you do!

What a beautiful day it turned out to be for the 46th annual Terry Fox run this morning! This year’s event saw a great turn out and your FSJ firefighters headed down to help man the pedestrian crossings. Amazing job as always Tara Maddigan, thank you for hosting this meaningful event and raising the much needed awareness for cancer research! 🏃‍♂️❤

✅ Helping our community where it matters most

Another school year is upon us and as we all know, preparation leads to success. The Fort St John Firefighters Charitable Society, along with our local Staples, were able to donate 100 backpacks and over $2,500 in school supplies to ensure the kids of our community get the start they deserve!

Thank you to School District #60 and Staples for helping make this possible! 🚒🎒❤️

Our own Captain Brent Morgan is down in Squamish this week to help kick off the 2026 BCPFFA Burn Camp! He is joining other firefighters, burn survivors, doctors, nurses, and therapists who donate their time to help run this amazing week-long event. ⛺

The Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society is proud to be donating $20,000 to this incredible event that helps young burn survivors to be themselves and connect with others in a safe an inclusive environment!

We even get the added bonus to have one of our local survivors help present the cheque!
