The University of British Columbia’s SMART Team is recruiting for an online survey to better understand the mental health and masking experiences of autistic youth.

The study involves:
- A 10 minute online survey completed by a parent
- A 15 minute online survey completed by an autistic youth
- Families can complete the 2-minute screening for eligibility by scanning the QR code or the link here: https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4V20HTRZw8HJTfM

Who can participate?
- Both a parent and autistic youth must participate in the study. Youth must be:
- 13 to 21 years old
- Have an autism diagnosis
- Live in Canada, USA, England, or Australia
- Have no diagnosis of intellectual disability

Compensation?
- Families will have the opportunity to enter a draw for a chance to win one of ten $50 CAD e-gift cards as a thank you

Prompts are useful in guiding a client to focus on and learn a variety of tasks. However, individuals can sometimes grow a reliance on these prompts, which decreases independence. Prompt fading reduces this dependency by slowly removing/altering the prompts used and helps create habits where a person can complete an action on their own! 💪

Our centre aims to assist anyone to complete any kind of goal that is socially valid for them!

🛑 Extinction helps to reduce problem behaviours that were rewarded in the past by not inhibiting whatever was rewarding the behaviour from occurring. It helps clients to learn that some actions do not achieve certain outcomes, while we then encourage and teach positive replacements that gain reinforcement instead.
