BC Child and Youth in Care Week was created because youth in and from care wanted future generations to grow up feeling celebrated, supported, and proud of who they are. πŸ’™

This week recognizes the incredible strength and diversity of children and youth in care while raising awareness about the stigma and barriers many continue to face.

At the heart of this week is a simple but powerful message:
Children and youth in care are more than labels or systems, they are individuals with gifts, talents, cultures, identities, and dreams.

Let’s continue creating communities where every young person feels seen, heard, valued, and connected.

πŸ“£ Community Call-Out: Fireproof Filing Cabinets πŸ”₯πŸ“

Before we move forward with purchasing new units and incurring significant costs, we wanted to reach out to our community:

Do any organizations or individuals have a large fireproof filing cabinets available at a reduced cost or they’re looking to part with?

We’re also open to a trade as we currently have several large non-fireproof filing cabinets in good condition that could be exchanged.

We’re working to ensure safe storage of important records while being mindful of our resources. We’d be happy to arrange pick-up and give these cabinets a second life supporting our work with children and families.

If you have something available, are open to a trade, or can point us in the right direction, please call us at 250.787.2151 or email us at [email protected]

Thank you for your ongoing support πŸ’›
