🎓 Congratulations to our 2026 Bursary Recipients! 🎓

The Stuart Lake Hospital Auxiliary Society is pleased to announce the recipients of our 2026 Health Careers Bursary.

Each year, this bursary is awarded to a graduating Fort St. James Secondary School student who plans to pursue post-secondary studies in a health-oriented field. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, citizenship, financial need, and their commitment to serving others through a future career in healthcare.

This year, we were delighted to award bursaries to Jenna Prince and Sullivan Wenger.

We are inspired by their dedication, hard work, and desire to make a difference in the lives of others through healthcare. We wish them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter and pursue their educational and career goals.

Congratulations, graduates! The future of healthcare is brighter because of young people like you.

🦆 The Duck Draw is one of our favourite annual fundraisers — and every ticket purchased helps support meaningful projects and programs in our community! 💛

Funds raised this year may help support:

• Comfortable new furniture for the Long Term Care lounge area
• Decorative door wraps for residents’ rooms
• A vending machine at Nats’oojeh Hospital
• A donation to Kordyban Lodge
• Support for the Seniors Association recreation bus
• A bursary for a student entering the medical field
• A Wind Phone, planters, and plants for the healing garden area

Thank you for continuing to support the Hospital Auxiliary and helping us make a difference for patients, residents, seniors, and families in our community.

If you would like to purchase Duck Draw tickets, keep an eye out for our volunteers selling tickets at various locations around town in the coming weeks! 🦆

🎩☕ Hats, Tea, and a Whole Lot of Fun! ☕🎩

Long Term Care residents at Nats’oojeh Hospital enjoyed a delightful High Tea on February 20 — and they certainly dressed for the occasion! Beautiful hats and sparkling jewellery were on full display as everyone gathered for an elegant afternoon together.

The celebration began with a lively singalong led by Jen Duncan, Tracy Braun, and friends, getting everyone warmed up and smiling.

After that, it was time for tea served in china cups, along with delicious scones and tarts presented on classic tiered trays — just like a proper high tea!

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, music, and a touch of fancy. A big thank you to the volunteers who helped make this special gathering possible for our residents. 💕

❤️ A Little Valentine’s Day Love in Long Term Care ❤️

Earlier this month, residents in Long Term Care celebrated Valentine’s Day together by creating a beautiful Willow Valentine Tree and sharing messages of love for spouses, family members, friends — and even a few beloved pets. The room was filled with stories, laughter, and sweet moments.

After the stories were shared, everyone enjoyed coffee and beautifully decorated Valentine cupcakes together.

The tables looked extra special thanks to glowing centre pieces made by some of the residents along with two of our wonderful Junior Volunteers. Each resident also received a single red carnation, generously donated by The Window Box.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the day so meaningful for our residents. Small acts of kindness truly make a big difference. 💕
