Applications are open for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls+ (MMIWG+) Community Response Fund.

Up to $40,000 per project is available to support projects that help prevent violence and build safety for Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit+ people, their families and communities.

The 2026-27 intake will remain open until all available funds are allocated. Approved projects must be completed by March 31, 2027.

Yes, women are the majority of victims—but abusive female partners exist, and men can be survivors too. The hard part is that it often goes unreported: fear, shame, and the belief that “this can’t be abuse” keeps many people silent. And it’s not just physical—verbal, psychological, and financial control can be just as damaging, even if there aren’t visible bruises. 🧩

If someone you know is being isolated, constantly put down, threatened, controlled financially, or scared at home, it’s worth taking seriously—no matter their gender. 🟣
