📣 Mikisew Cree Youth — We Want Your Voice at the Table!

We are looking for a Mikisew Cree Youth Representative (ages 18–30) to join the Mikisew Awasis Kisiwatsowin Society Board of Directors ❤️

Our youth deserve to have a voice in the decisions and conversations that help shape the future of our children, families, and community. We don't want to make those decisions without hearing from the generation that will carry our Nation forward.

You don't need to have years of leadership or board experience. What matters is that you care about your community, are willing to share your ideas and perspective, and want to make a difference.

This is a chance to learn, grow, build leadership experience, and most importantly — make sure Mikisew Cree youth are represented at the table.

If you've been thinking about getting more involved in your community, this could be your opportunity. We would really love to hear from you.

🌿 Calling all Edmonton Location Members! 🌿

Join us for three meaningful days of land-based learning, traditional teachings, and time together.

From August 25–27, 2026, participants will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on land-based activities, including medicine picking and teachings, berry picking, and snaring.

This is an opportunity to learn, share, and strengthen our connection to the land through traditional teachings and experiences. 🌲🫐

Back-to-School Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway! 📚🎒

As another school year begins, Mikisew Awasis Kisiwatsowin Society is excited to help our students start the year prepared and confident!

We are hosting a Back-to-School Backpack & School Supplies Giveaway for Mikisew Cree First Nation school-aged children.
🍎 What's Included:
🎒 Backpack filled with essential school supplies
📅 Date: August 20th
🕒 Time: 10am-3pm
📍 Location: 11 Haineault Street, Fort McMurray

This giveaway is open to Mikisew Cree First Nation children attending school from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Our goal is to support families and ensure every child has the tools they need for a successful and exciting school year.
Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
We look forward to seeing our students and families! Wishing everyone a safe, successful, and inspiring school year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities. 💙💛
