🧠 Mental Health Mondays: Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, uncertainty, or perceived danger. In fact, anxiety can sometimes help keep us alert and prepared. However, when anxious feelings become intense, persistent, or begin interfering with daily life, it may be a sign that additional support is needed.

Anxiety can show up in many ways, including:
💭 Racing thoughts or excessive worry
💓 Feeling restless, tense, or on edge
😴 Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
🌪️ Physical symptoms such as headaches, muscle tension, or a racing heart

The good news? Anxiety is common, and there are effective tools and supports available to help manage it.

💭 Reflection Question:
What helps you feel more grounded or calm when anxiety shows up?

🧠 Mental Health Mondays: Signs of Burnout

Burnout doesn't happen overnight. It can build gradually when stress becomes ongoing and our emotional, mental, and physical resources become depleted.

Some common signs of burnout include:

⚠️ Constant fatigue, even after rest
⚠️ Difficulty concentrating or feeling mentally "foggy"
⚠️ Increased irritability, frustration, or feeling overwhelmed

Recognizing these signs early is an important act of self-care. Burnout is not a sign of weakness, it's often a signal that your mind and body need support, rest, and recovery.

💭 Reflection Question:
What's one thing you can do this week to support your mental well-being?

If you're struggling, support is available. Visit woodbuffalo.cmha.ca to find resources and connect with your local CMHA branch.
