We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about what to do if you ever break down on the road. Here are a few simple steps to help keep you and your passengers safe if it happens to you:
Turn on your hazard lights.
This provides a greater visibility for oncoming traffic, letting drivers know to slow down or move over.
Pull over safely.
Move as far onto the shoulder as you can, ideally on a straight stretch where other drivers can see you early and easily.
Do not exit your vehicle (unless necessary).
On high speed roads, in poor visibility, or on icy shoulders, it’s safer to remain buckled in until help arrives.
Call for help.
Reach out to AMA, a tow truck, or the non-emergency police for assistance.
A little preparation goes a long way when the unexpected happens. Stay safe out there. 🚘✨
