📢 Overdose Awareness in Alberta: The Fight Continues 💜

Alberta has seen a 55% decline in opioid-related overdose deaths so far in 2024 compared to last year. This progress shows that change is possible when communities come together. 🙌

✨ Key Stats:

431 opioid-related deaths from January to May 2024, down from 788 in 2023.
Naloxone kits and supervised consumption services continue to save lives.
Reduced presence of highly potent substances like carfentanil is making an impact.
🌟 Cities like Calgary and Edmonton remain deeply affected, reporting the highest numbers of overdose-related deaths. Let's keep the momentum going to bring these numbers down further.

💡 What You Can Do:

Carry a naloxone kit—it can save lives.
Educate others about harm reduction.
Join us in raising awareness to fight stigma and support recovery.
Together, we can create a safer, more compassionate Alberta. 💜
