Smudging supplies are available, along with a designated area where community members can smudge with care, respect, and gratitude.

We invite you to use this space in a way that honours the medicines, the teachings, and those around you. 🫶

If you are looking for a space to smudge, stop on by at 8310 Manning Ave. (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm - excluding holidays & closures.)

Thank you again to Bee Creative and local artist Shaylean Gladu for coming together to create these beautiful orange tshirts with proceeds supporting the Nistawoyou Association Friendship Centre!

This initiative (in it's second year now) raised $800!!! That is double over last year, and we couldn't be more grateful. We are so honoured to have been chosen as the receiving organization of this amazing project.

Today, our Education Coordinator Jen and Language Coordinator Samara had the pleasure of taking part in Homeless Connect at Syncrude Sport & Wellness. 🤝

It was wonderful to be part of this event for another year, connecting with community members, sharing resources, and helping connect people with supports they may need.

This year, we were also grateful to bring supplies from our new Period Pantry, funded through Food Banks Canada’s Menstrual Equity Fund! 🔴 These products are available free of charge to anyone who needs these products during our regular business hours. No questions asked — just come in and take what you need.

Thank you to the Homeless Connect team for having us and for creating an opportunity for organizations and community members to come together. We’re grateful to be part of it and look forward to next time!

We are excited to host the Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo at our Centre for their Senior Coffee Social next weekend! ☕

If you're looking to attend, connect with them directly to register!

Seniors will have another opportunity to connect with the multicultural community on October 17, from 1 - 3 PM at Nistawoyou Association Friendship Centre for our October Seniors Coffee Social!

Take part in meaningful conversation and enjoy a coffee with the multicultural community, followed by a fun hands-on activity to enjoy! All attendees will also have the chance to enter to win a prize draw.

Need an interpreter? Seniors are welcome to bring one family support member for interpretation, or you can let us know when reserving your spot and we can arrange an interpreter for you!

Nature has a powerful way of supporting our wellbeing by helping us move our bodies, clear our minds, and create space for positive reflection. 💚

Join us for a Gratitude Walk through the Birchwood Trails, where we’ll combine gentle movement with intentional connection to the natural world and a focus on gratitude.

🥾 When: Meet at 1:30 PM; walk begins at 1:40 PM
📍 Where: Doug Barnes Cabin, 162 Tamarack Way, Fort McMurray
🌲 What to expect: Moderate physical activity over changing terrain, with opportunities to pause, connect with nature, and reflect on the things we’re grateful for.

Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.

Join us for Family Night Culture & Crafts tomorrow night and create your own decorative fall cutting board! 🍂🍁

Get creative together as a family while learning decoupage techniques and creating a beautiful fall-inspired cutting board. Enjoy an evening of creativity, connection, and celebrating culture together.

No registration is required. Everyone is welcome to drop in! All supplies and instruction are provided.

This workshop is made possible thanks to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) and the Alberta Native Friendship Centres Association (ANFCA).

Last week during Family Night Culture & Crafts we learned how to make Mug Rugs using a cardboard loom!! ☕

This craft was a little trickier, but eventually everyone got the hang of it and took their projects home to finish! We can't wait to see them when they're finished!
