This weekend, 11 of our dedicated members stepped up to sharpen their skills and attended Disaster Response Training!

We want to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to Joshua from Opportunity Regional Search & Rescue for volunteering his entire weekend to travel up and train our members. Thank you, Joshua, for donating your time, sharing your incredible expertise, and helping us strengthen our emergency response capabilities!

We would also like to thank Search and Rescue Alberta for putting together this incredible and vital training material. Our team is now even better equipped to serve and protect our community when it matters most.

During the summer months, a huge portion of our call outs are water-related. Having our team highly trained in swiftwater dynamics means we can respond faster, smarter, and safer when every second counts.

This weekend, a few of our members are out on the river with the incredible team at St. Paul Search and Rescue, brushing up on their Swiftwater Rescue skills.

​A massive thank you to St. Paul SAR for hosting us! We love collaborating with our fellow rescue teams to keep our communities safe!

We are incredibly excited to unveil our new drone and newly built Search and Rescue drone trailer!

A massive shoutout to and Myco Electric for helping us build and clean up our Search and Rescue drone trailer. It looks incredible and gives our team the perfect mobile setup for rapid deployment.

​We also owe a huge thank you to Search and Rescue Association of Alberta for the grant that made purchasing this drone possible. This technology is a game-changer for our search capabilities in the region.

May Training Night: Field exercise. Tonight’s focus covered navigation skills—including GPS, pacing, and bearing angles—along with side-by-side vehicle operations.

This weekend, you might have seen our team around the trails training in Wilderness First Aid.

When a call-out takes us off the beaten path, standard medical response changes completely. We spent the last two days practicing patient assessment, stabilization, and improvised care in challenging environments to ensure we are always ready when the community needs us most.

​Huge thanks to David with and everyone who came out to sharpen their skills.

Not every call ends with a helicopter hoist, and honestly, we prefer it that way!

​Today we responded to a phone-activated SOS. It turned out to be a classic case of kids being kids and playing with buttons they shouldn't.

While it was a false alarm, it’s a great reminder:

​The SOS feature works. Even without cell service, your phone can be a lifeline.

​Education is key. It’s worth showing the kiddos that certain buttons are for "emergencies only."

​Since we were already out in the bush with the machines, we took the long way home!
