August Training Day - Some of our SRT members ran scenarios—practicing reading water currents, executing precise boat handling, and safely retrieving subjects from rocks and obstacles in fast-moving water.

Our hearts are heavy following the outcome of the search for Parker Wells. Our volunteers joined this effort, holding onto hope every step of the way.

​We extend our deepest condolences to Parker’s family, loved ones, and all those grieving this tragic loss. Thank you to everyone who gave their time and support to assist in the search.

Our crew spent the last few days getting hands-on with our ATV and UTV training. We weren't just joyriding—members were tested on trail safety, navigating tricky obstacles, winching and recovery techniques, and ensuring we can transport gear (and subjects) safely through rough country.

We want to give a massive shoutout and thank you to Rons Rentals for donating three side by sides for our UTV training this weekend - this allowed us to get an additional six people through the course!

June Training Night - Drone and GSAR Mock Search.

For the first time since we acquired our drone, the team deployed during a mock search with a live subject.

​The exercise kicked off with some of our members working as visual observers, glued to the screens to analyze live footage from above. Using CalTopo, our aerial team marked the subject location and our ground team moved in, conducting a precise search, and successfully executing the extraction.

​We were also thrilled to have members of the RCMP come out to join us for the evening. This allowed us to practice multi-drone operation, dividing airspace while maintaining safe operation.

Continuous training like this ensures we are faster, smarter, and ready whenever the call comes.

Thank you for having us!

St. Paul SAR members recently completed Swiftwater Rescue Technician training. We had a few re-certs as well as 5 new team members that will be moving on to rescue boat operator training over the coming year.

We were happy to host members from Bonnyville Search & Rescue and Fort McMurray Search & Rescue Society as well!

This builds upon our existing still/swiftwater rescue and recovery team.

We stand ready 24/7/365.
