Our cadets and staff had an amazing weekend FTX building our bivouac skills. Some of our seniors braved the elements last night in improvised shelters and hoochies. Many new skills were learned and lots of leadership practice for our new and existing senior cadets.

It's still not too late to join!! We have many great activities planned for the training year and accept new enrollments of youth ages 12-18 throughout the year.

No need to wait until next September!

2803 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:30 pm. We parade upstairs at the Fort McMurray Royal Canadian Legion. All youth ages 12-18 are welcome and can register at any time during the training year. Some of our cadets toughed it out in the rain - but we called the day early and ended just after lunch. Thanks for all those that came out for the last event of this training season.

Today concluded another amazing training year. For those interested in joining us we will be returning in a September for another great year of training. Many thanks to those who came out today to support the cadets, thank you to Major Angel for being the reviewing officer today and conducting the change of command ceremony.

Special thanks to Capt Angel for all of her hard work as CO for the past four years, we hope you enjoy your new role with the unit.

Thank you to the staff and cadets who give your time to grow this wonderful local program.

Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen will fly to the Moon on the Artemis II mission, the first crewed flight test of the Orion spacecraft launching on the SLS rocket. He will become the first Canadian to ever venture to the Moon. Prior to his selection as one of Canada's astronauts, Hansen was a Royal Canadian Air Force captain, piloting the CF-18 fighter jet at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta. He has since been promoted to the rank of colonel.
