💙 Making a Difference in Our Community 💙

The Fort McMurray Kinettes are proud to serve our community, and this past year our members made an incredible impact through volunteerism, fundraising, and acts of kindness.

Together, we:

🌸 Planted flowers for seniors to brighten their outdoor spaces
🍽️ Hosted a Senior Lunch & Bingo
❤️ Created sympathy cards for cancer patients and their families
🥫 Volunteered at the Food Bank Drive
👶 Made stockings for newborn babies at the hospital
🎄 Donated Christmas poinsettias to seniors
🏊 Hosted a Family Swim Day
🚮 Cleaned up roadsides in Timberlea
✨ Seasonally decorated Willow Square
🎃 Volunteered at the Golden Years Society Halloween Party
💝 Celebrated our Day of Kindness by surprising community members with random acts of kindness and gift cards

These accomplishments reflect the dedication, generosity, and caring spirit of our members. Whether through hands-on volunteering, community events, donations, or simple acts of kindness, we are committed to making Fort McMurray a better place for everyone.

The Kinette Club of Fort McMurray is excited to offer three $1,000 Commitment to Community Service Awards to graduating Grade 12 students who have made a difference through volunteering, leadership, and community involvement.

We know that pursuing post-secondary education can be expensive, and we are proud to support local students as they take the next step in their educational journey.

Eligibility Requirements

• Grade 12 graduate
• Attended school in the RMWB for a minimum of 3 years
• Enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program
• Minimum 60% graduation average
• Demonstrated involvement in volunteering, school activities, sports, charities, church, or community organizations

Some of our amazing members spent the evening yesterday planting flowers at Legion Manor to help brighten the space for the seniors who call it home. 🌼

A little bit of dirt, teamwork, and kindness can go a long way! We hope the residents enjoy the beautiful flowers all summer long!

Day 2 of our Food Bank Drive 💛

We wrapped up collections yesterday, but I still wanted to share this from Day 2 because it truly shows the heart of our community. Thank you to everyone who donated—we had such an incredible response!

If you didn’t get a chance to contribute, you can always drop donations off directly to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. They accept donations year-round and every item makes a difference for local families.
