👑✨ Royalty at the Fort ✨👑

Hear ye! Hear ye! Royalty is coming to the Fort this Victoria Day weekend!

Join us on Saturday, May 16th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a day of royal fun fit for princes and princesses of all ages. Step back into the Victorian era as the Fort prepares to welcome Queen Victoria brought to life by our historical interpreters.

🌟 Event Highlights Include:
👑 Crown decorating for children
☕ British-style tea times at 11:00 AM & 2:00 PM
🍰 Delightful treats and refreshments
💃 Children’s Royal Ball
📖 Story and history station
📸 Walk the red carpet and meet Queen Victoria and members of the royal court
🐎 Weather permitting, visit with two of the Fort’s horses throughout the day

Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their royal best! Whether you arrive as a prince, princess, knight, or noble guest, there will be fun for the whole family.

📅 May 15, 16 & 17 (Fri–Sun)

This is not a riding lesson.
It’s an honoured, immersive experience where you’ll learn the discipline, precision, and teamwork behind one of Canada’s most iconic traditions.

✔ Ages 16+
✔ Riding experience required
✔ Led by our Sergeant & Corporal
✔ Small group experience

🚧 Construction Notice – River Valley Wilderness Park 🚧
Paving begins April 27 in River Valley Wilderness Park, with completion expected by May 15, weather permitting. Work includes approximately 1 km of pathway and the parking lot.
Construction will take place in phases, with partial closures in effect. Please follow posted signage and avoid active work zones.
This work is being carried out with care to minimize environmental impact and protect the natural area.

We’re excited to share that we had the pleasure of meeting local author Kelley Slimmon — and we’re proud to be the first museum to carry his books!

Kelley, now based in Calgary, is no stranger to the Fort. Many of you may remember him from his time with us in the Musical Ride and the Trading Post. It’s incredible to see where his journey has taken him, and we’re honoured to support his next chapter.

His books take readers on exciting adventures through history, following Jaxson as he travels to different time periods. Perfect for teens and adults alike, they’re a fun and engaging way to spark curiosity about the past.
