Today Emily Hyatt, Prevention Worker at Northwestern Ontario Métis Child and Family Services was here doing Métis Dot Art with the Grade 8 students.

A little history behind this idea: 1700-1800s it emerged when the artist combined Indigenous beadwork with European floral embroidery. In the 1800s they designed clothing, moccasins, bags, and jackets. In the 1900s families passed these skills from generation to generation.
